JOE’S CRS STORY
My experiences at Camp Rising Sun in summers of 1973 and 1974 were transformative. Some of the values and beliefs I brought with me to Camp were challenged, as I was exposed to different values, beliefs, traditions and world views. With an open heart and mind, I listened to and learned from other campers and counselors. For the first time, I appreciated my own cultural positioning and the beauty and strength of diversity. All of this led to new understandings and insights. Ultimately, I became a different person. The mission of LAJF/CRS, through its international summer leadership program and other educational initiatives, is to offer this experience to current and future generations of adolescents from across the globe, to help them appreciate their common humanity and to instill in them a desire to serve their communities, wherever they live. As a proud and grateful alumnus, I am honored to be on the Board of Directors of LAJF/CRS and serve the organization that so profoundly changed my life. Please consider making a donation to this incredible organization, so that its ability to transform the lives of future youth, and thereby improve the global community, can be sustained.
We thank our Board of Directors for their passionate leadership of LAJF and CRS! Their work ensures the successful operations and sustainable future of our organization.
