Jonathan Gross is a fundraising and development professional who has worked extensively in the fields of education and public health.  Since 2017, he has served as Senior Director of Development at AFS Intercultural Programs/USA, one of the world's leading student exchange organizations, where he has focused on securing scholarships for young people from economically challenged communities.  Prior to AFS, Jonathan worked in advancement roles that increased the availability of primary health care services in rural and inner-city settings, provided supportive services and advocacy for people impacted by HIV/AIDS, and secured women’s access to reproductive health care and rights.

A lifelong Brooklyn resident, Jonathan holds a BA in Art History from the State University of New York at Purchase, and a Certificate in Planned Giving from Columbia University.

JONATHAN'S CRS STORY

My experience as a camper at Camp Rising Sun during the summers of 1978 and 1979 were among the most profound of my life.  In addition to being the genesis of amazing lifelong friendships, CRS increased my curiosity about the larger world, vastly enhanced my sense of empathy for others, and augmented my own sense of self-awareness.  These lessons learned at Camp have provided me with incredible guidance throughout my career and day-to-day life; as a Board member of the Louis August Jonas Foundation, I want to ensure that the CRS experience is available to future generations of young men and women.
