Dear friends,

This year I have been chosen between a large number of applications from over 30 countries, and I am the one of only 60 young men selected to attend, to participate in Camp Rising Sun: 30 days arranged by specials to foster an appreciation of both diversity and common humanity, expand intellectual horizons and heighten artistic sensibilities, develop leadership abilities and self- reliance in a safe environment ,offer and demonstrate a philosophy of living to serve society through the pursuit of humanitarian goals. Although my addition to Camp Rising Sun ‘s community is fully funded, I am looking forward to acquisition donators, so that I can cover the cost of my round-trip airfare. The cost must be covered by June 22, the first day of the program. The sooner you help me the better for me and you. The cost of my flight to NYC rises up to 1106.36 USD$.

Camp Rising Sun is an international leadership program for teenagers selected for their character, leadership potential, and promise, tThrough active experiential learning. Camp Rising Sun is based on experiential learning. Students are given leadership and other responsibilities in running the program. They are challenged to explore areas in our program that are unfamiliar to them and develop their outlook. Staff plays a major role in challenging students and making them reflect on their experiences in order to develop in promising young people from diverse backgrounds a lifelong commitment to sensitive and responsible leadership for the betterment of their communities and the world. The selection is based on character criteria’s. You have to pass through the online application, an essay and an interview from some of my school’s departments leaders.

Camp Rising Sun is one family and I want to become a member on her. The benefits that I will take will help me to my life. I am already politicized and informed about all the contemporary humanitarian topics. Camp Rising Sun will help me form a better opinion on society. Me and Camp Rising Sun are not the only ones who will benefit from my visit in the US. We live in a globalized world and as a result, wherever I go I will interact with other people, helping them to be active citizens. That will help also society because what we need, in those historical moments that we live, is active citizens that have critical thinking. When I get back to Greece, I will continue to communicate with Camp Rising Sun. I will tell all my friends my experience and the entire story about how I got to choose Camp Rising Sun and how you helped me with donations to pay my ticket. In the future when I reach my dreams, I will do the exact same thing with you, I will help poor children reach their dreams.
