
Julián Cancino was born in Chiapas, Mexico. He is the director of the Gender and Sexuality Center at Brandeis University. Julián spearheaded a nationally-recognized audience development initiative at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; a diversity and inclusion center at Tufts University; and strategic partnerships at prominent law firms including GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) in Boston and the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) in San Francisco. In 2013, he served as a fellow at the highly selective Munger, Tolles, & Olson office in Los Angeles. Julián is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and a proud board member of the Louis August Jonas Foundation (CRS '04 and '4). He enjoys spending quality time with family, rock climbing, and photography.
